Stenn celebrates Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day

Today we're celebrating Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Day, the day on which we recognise the companies that are the lifeblood of the global economy. MSMEs account for 90% of businesses, 60 to 70% of employment and 50% of GDP worldwide playing a vital role in all our lives. 

Over the last few years, the environment in which they operate has become increasingly difficult and now, more than ever, they need our support. Research from the International Trade Centre shows that MSMEs are currently dealing with an unprecedented amount of challenges in the form of Covid-19, global conflict and climate change, to name but a few. 

Here at Stenn, we recognise the enormous challenges faced by MSMEs and we're proud to support them across 74 different countries. One of the biggest challenges they face is gaining access to capital. Today MSMEs face a staggering financing gap of $3.6 trillion (USD). And things aren't getting easier, as this gap is set to grow to $6.1 trillion (USD) within the next three years. 

Our mission is to close that gap and level the playing field for SMEs engaged in international trade.
